I am Lucian Fox’s most precious little snake.
I was lying on his abs, resting with a lustful gaze, when suddenly bullet comments appeared before my eyes:
【The male and female leads are finally about to meet—the domineering Lucian, love her fiercely!】
【Here it comes! The female lead gets scared by the male lead’s snake, and he falls in love at first sight, uttering the line, “That’s all it takes to scare you?”】
【But it’s such a pity for the little princess snake. In the end, to win back the female lead, the male lead sends her to the fighting arena, where she gets eaten by the rival’s snake.】
Me, the snake:?!
Watching the two of them gazing deeply at each other, just as the bullet comments said.
So, the snake decides to run away from home.
…
Right after the bullet comments finished, Sophia Williams’ bag fell to the ground with a “thud.”
She looked terrified.
Lucian scooped me up from his body and placed me into a cold, hard snake tank.
He tossed a live baby mouse inside.
After tying his robe, he said, “That’s all it takes to scare you?
“Your job is to raise the mice properly and feed the snakes according to the requirements. If you can’t do it, you can leave.”
Sophia’s eyes reddened, looking pitiful and delicate. “I’m not scared, Lucian. I can do it.”
But I’m scared! I can’t do it!
I’m just a lazy, spoiled little snake who only eats live mini baby mice for meals and fruit insects for snacks.
Aside from coiling around Lucian’s wrist, I’m utterly useless.
Sending me to the fighting arena is no different from sending me to my death.
Wasn’t Sophia hired because I’m too picky and Lucian has no time to raise baby mice for me?
How did he end up inviting the Grim Reaper here?!
Even the baby mouse lost its appeal.
“Alright, the specific feeding requirements are listed in the snake room. Just follow them.”
“But every six days, you must deliver a live five-gram baby mouse to me. It has to be every six days, five grams, and alive.”
“This one,” Lucian pointed at me, “I’ll feed personally.”
Sophia replied, “Yes, Sir.”
Lucian agreed just like that.
I was so anxious, darting back and forth in the snake tank.
Lucian looked down and noticed I wasn’t eating.
His tone turned doting.
“Why aren’t you eating again, huh? Do you want fruit insects from peaches instead?”
He reached in and stroked my scales.
The thought of him sending me to the fighting arena made me furious, so I bit down on the back of his hand.
Lucian laughed uncontrollably. “What? Trying to eat me? You ungrateful little Fiona.”
But he’s the one ditching me for a pretty face!
Lucian still doted on me.
This week, aside from delivering baby mice to me, Sophia hardly ever crossed paths with Lucian.
I started to doubt the authenticity of the bullet comments.
Then the bullet comments hit me with a major revelation:
【It’s happening! The showdown is today. The male lead meets the rival while the female lead is working at a bar, and the love triangle begins!】
What?
How many jobs does this Sophia Williams have?
Before I could finish my mental rant, Lucian grabbed his car keys and prepared to leave.
I panicked, frantically scurrying around in the temperature-controlled tank.
Just as Lucian was about to leave, he turned back and asked, “Fiona, what’s wrong?”
I slithered around wildly, flicking my tongue nonstop.
“You want to come out too?” Lucian shook his head.
“No, it’s too crowded outside. Too dangerous.”
I wasn’t happy, writhing and squirming irritably.
Lucian sighed.
“You usually hate strangers, so why are you so eager to go out today? If you get scared later, don’t blame me.”
Unable to resist me, he finally opened the temperature-controlled tank.
I happily coiled around his wrist and licked him with my tongue.
Lucian smirked.
“So excited to go out that you’re finally licking me?”
…
The bar was packed, and I nervously curled up tighter.
Lucian teased me, “You scaredy-little snake. You insisted on coming out to play.”
He actually mocked me!
I wasn’t having it.
I hissed and gave his hand another light bite.
Lucian poked my head. “You little princess, biting me whenever you’re upset. Who else in the world would dare treat me like this? Huh?”
I didn’t care, turning my head away arrogantly.
“Lucian, is your hand okay?” Liam asked him.
He’d met Lucian at a snake fighting arena.
They could be considered half-friends, but now they might be love rivals.
He’d brought a large python with him.
I grew even more frightened and hid deeper into Lucian’s collar.
“It’s fine. My little princess bit me.” Lucian frowned and waved at him.
“Cover your snake. You’re scaring her.”
Liam covered the snake tank in his arm.
“What made you bring your precious little snake out today?”
“She wanted to come out. What can I do?”
Liam stared at me for a long time and said, “She’s really pretty, no wonder you treasure her so much. How about we use her as a bet next time?”
Lucian snapped, “Get lost. Scram.”
Just then, the bullet comments appeared:
【Classic scene alert! The female lead gets scared by the snake, drops the drinks on her tray, and the male lead stubbornly asks, ‘Why do you work so many jobs?’】
【Then the rival pities the female lead, persuades them to let it go, and plays hero by paying for the spilled drinks.】
【Thus, the love triangle is sealed.】
I turned to look at the entrance, and sure enough, Sophia was carrying drinks.
The moment our eyes met, the glass in her hand fell and shattered.
Oh no, those bullet comments might actually be real.
My vision went dark, and I slumped over.
I hung limply from Lucian’s wrist, completely lifeless.
Lucian anxiously held me in his palm. “Fiona, what’s wrong? Fiona.”
Without even glancing at the doorway, he raised his voice sharply. “What’s going on? If you can’t even hold drinks properly, why are you working here?”
Sophia stood pitifully at the entrance of the private room, tears welling in her eyes.
No, I can’t let them properly meet.
Thinking quickly, I slithered toward Liam, diverting Lucian’s attention.
As expected, Lucian’s gaze locked onto me completely.
I burrowed into Liam’s jacket, poked my head out, and hissed at Lucian.
“Wow your snake was quite naughty,” Liam laughed.
Lucian’s brows furrowed into a deep frown, and his tone carried a hint of grievance.
“Fiona, have you no conscience? Where do you think you’re going?”
“Stop calling her Fiona. She should be called Lily,”
Liam scratched my chin.
I cooperated fully, nuzzling against his palm.
No one paid attention to Sophia at the door anymore!
I succeeded!
Or so I thought.
Lucian, jealous, snatched me back into his grasp.
“You little snake, so ungrateful.”
Then, he looked toward the entrance,
And uttered the line from the bullet comments, “Why do you work so many jobs?”
“If it affects your work at my snake room, I’ll have to fire you.”
Sophia looked on the verge of tears. “It won’t, Lucian. I won’t let it affect my job taking care of your pet snakes in the snake room.”
Liam stepped in, “Hey, it’s no big deal. You can go now. This drink is on me.”
After Sophia left, he said cheekily, “Lucian, hire me to take care of your snakes instead. I’m great at it. I’ll make sure Fiona is beautifully maintained.”
Lucian, “Get the hell out of here.”
It seems like the plot can’t be changed at all!
So I decided to run away from home!
