I bring Selena Bloomberg home because I find her pitiful, and I treat her very well as if she were my own younger sister.

However, I didn’t think that she would end up impersonating me as the Bloomberg family’s heiress and kill me afterward before getting rid of my body.

Now that I am reborn, I refuse to let the same tragedy happen again. I swear that I will make her pay.

An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth!

Chapter 1

I went downstairs to empty the trash can.

It was then that I noticed a global limited-edition Lamborghini parked in the corner of the street and shaking viciously.

I wasn’t the least bit surprised. Calmly, I whipped out my phone and took a recording of the entire process inside before sending the video straight to the biggest tabloid news agency in the world.

“I want the whole world to have watched this video by 7:00 pm tomorrow,” I said.

In my last life, Selena Bloomberg, the orphan I’d taken pity on and brought home with me, had usurped and stolen my identity as the rightful heiress to the Bloomberg family.

Why, one might ask? It was because she was my cousin, Justin Bloomberg’s, favorite “cousin”.

It had been a banquet held to celebrate the Bloomberg heiress’ birthday that night, but Selena and Justin both stopped me from attending it. Concurrently, they somehow flipped the public opinion against me.

“You’re nothing but a lowly orphan, Sabrina Bloomberg! You have no right to appear at this place!” Justin yelled.

“I am the rightful Bloomberg heiress, you hear me?” Selena added. “As for you, maybe you should consider pissing off back to your kennel and stop embarrassing the rest of the family!”

In my last life, I had been wary of Justin’s wrath, so I kept giving in to Selena’s demands.

But now, I’d been given a second chance at life.

The night after the banquet was a continuation of the celebration. When I saw Selena still trying to stop me at the entrance to the hall, I raised my leg and kicked her to the ground.

“Who the hell do you think you are to be getting in my way?” I say.

I then shot a glance at Enid Murphy, the maid next to us. I said, “What are you still doing, standing there like an idiot? Take this imposter and throw her out!”

Everyone on the scene was so shocked that they froze in place.

Nobody thought that I, the always quiet, always docile person, would dare to lay a finger on Selena.

Enid quickly went to help Selena up. But when she looked back at me, there was fear in her eyes.

“Ms. Sabrina, you can’t do this to Ms. Selena. What if Mr. Bloomberg finds out and loses his temper?”

Enid knew very well that I was the real heiress, but she still treated me as if I wasn’t.

I yelled, “Drill this into your mind! The Bloombergs only have one daughter, and that is me, Sabrina Bloomberg!”

Enid shook hard from the shock and hung her head low, not daring to make another sound.

I stormed up to her and slapped her right on the cheek. “I can’t believe that you don’t even know who your true master is. What’s the point of keeping you, then? Get out of my sight!”

In my last life, Enid had been rude and disrespectful toward me because she saw that Mom and Dad weren’t often home. She also often threatened me with Justin.

Later on, Selena had Enid find someone to disfigure my face before killing me and hiding my body away.

Enid just did everything Selena told her to and thus became her loyal lapdog.

But now, Enid was kneeling on the ground, still reeling from fright at my sudden burst of anger.

She somehow managed to say, “I’m just carrying out Ms. Selena’s orders. How dare you hit me?

“If Mr. Bloomberg hears about this, he’ll never forgive you for it!”

At that moment, Selena started putting on a show to get everyone else’s empathy. She helped Enid to her feet and started scolding me like I was her disobedient younger sister.

“You’re acting just like a lowly orphan who got picked up from the streets again. Even though you’ve lived in the Bloomberg household for years, you still haven’t been able to get rid of your bad habit of lying and framing other people for your own wrongdoings!”

Selena’s best friend, Lacey Crawford, hurriedly stepped up and wrapped her hands around Selena’s arm. She then looked at me with anger and disgust in her eyes.

“You’re such a shameless brat! How dare you be so ungrateful to the Bloombergs and also ruin Selena’s birthday celebration by accusing other people of things they never did?”

The guests at the party began whispering among themselves.

“She’s just some random orphan from the streets that the Bloombergs took pity upon. How could she behave like an ingrate and bite the hand that fed her?”

“I heard that the Bloombergs treated her really well, toolike she was their own daughter. Ms. Selena also treats her like her own sister, giving her half of everything she owns.”

“She’s just a street rat with no parents, yet she still thinks of stealing Ms. Selena’s heiress title from her. She must be sick of living.”

Those people just didn’t know the truth.

I was the one who had asked Mom and Dad to bring Selena home with us because I thought she looked quite pitiful.

As Selena grew up, she learned how to sugar-coat her words so that people loved her more. That was also the reason why Justin liked her so much.

In fact, Justin would only ever bring her out to elite parties and gatherings while he locked me up at home, forbidding me from ever showing my face at such events.

Eventually, everyone thought that Selena was the real Bloomberg heiress, while I was the mere orphan.

Since I had now been given another shot at life, I decided that I wasn’t going to stay quiet any longer.

My father, Ralph Bloomberg, was a trillionaire with assets worth as much, and nobody ever dared to go against his word in the upper-crust society of Jadington.

People often referred to him as “Sir Ralph”.

Meanwhile, my mother, Christina Dawson, was an internationally celebrated movie actress who had won multiple prestigious awards for her work.

A single word from my parents was more than enough to destroy the livelihoods of half the guests currently present at the venue. So, why should I continue letting my cousin and an impostor continue taking advantage of me?

I glanced around the people present and finally locked my gaze on Lacey. I could feel the anger bursting from my chest as I clenched my fists.

“Your dad’s international company was only established because he got on his knees and begged my dad for three days and three nights straight before getting his first investment. Why don’t you ask him if he’d dare to interfere in our family matters?”

Lacey, unable to accept that I’d just insulted and humiliated her in public, stormed up to me to slap me.

However, I grabbed her wrist and slapped her right back before she could even touch me.

Her face scrunched up in anger at once. Her lower jaw quivered as she growled, “You You brat! How dare you slap me?”

Selena looked around the hall and yelled, “Security! Where’s the security team when you need them?”

The security guards had only just started toward us when I quickly shot them a death glare, my gaze so sharp that none of them dared to take another step toward me.

“I am the Bloomberg family’s only heiress! Who dares to lay a finger on me?”

Selena was worried that people would start believing me. So, she quickly covered up her anxiety by accusing me of impersonation first.

“Sabrina Bloomberg! The whole world knows that you’re nothing but a beggar on the streets whom Dad picked up! Did you really think that you could flip the script and sway the public into believing your lies? In your dreams!”

Everyone present nodded their heads, agreeing with Selena.

“Ms. Selena has a point. Every time there’s a social event, Ms. Selena is the one accompanying Mr. Justin Bloomberg. None of us has ever seen you before.”

“We were supposed to be celebrating Ms. Selena’s birthday tonight, but who would have thought that a street beggar would come and ruin everything for her?”

I chuckled coldly when I heard them.

I then turned around to my personal maid, Sandy Winston, and said, “Go and get my dear cousin now. Tell him that Selena Bloomberg, the street beggar Dad picked up, is impersonating the real Bloomberg heiress and tarnishing the Bloomberg family’s name.

“Is he not worried that Selena’s going to end up being despised by everyone she meets after this?”

Sandy hesitated. She knew that Justin had always favored Selena over me. He had even invested millionsif not billionsof dollars in her and helped her become a world-famous influencer.

Selena was the one who always bullied me at home. But each time, Justin would take her side no matter what. He would then chide me for being difficult and impossible, lock me up, starve me, and then force me to publicly apologize to Selena before finally letting me off the hook.

“Just go. I’ll take responsibility for anything that happens,” I said.

It was only then that Sandy was willing to leave.

Selena just laughed at me without a care. “Sabrina, have you forgotten all the lessons he’s taught you over the years? Don’t you remember all the punishments he doled out to you every time you crossed me?”

Selena always treated me as a pushover and never took me seriously because she knew that Justin favored her.

In my past life, Selena told Enid to splash acid over my face, and I’d then called Justin for help.

However, he refused to believe me and yelled at me through the phone for falsely accusing Selena of it. He even told me that I was welcome to take my own life, but I had better keep my distance from her while I did it.

In the end, I was sent to the depths of despair as Selena got a group of people to beat me to death and throw my body into the freezing river.

But now that I had a second chance at life, I was going to make them all pay for their sins in kind.

Chapter 2

To my surprise, Alvin Grayson arrived before Justin even reached the venue. He was dressed in a smart suit and holding a huge bouquet in his hand. He was someone I’d known since we were kids.

“My darling, I have combed through every single florist in the city to gather these 9999 red roses as a symbol of my love for you.”

Lacey was stunned silent. Her face paled as she instinctively glanced at Selena next to her, feeling anxious and confused.

Had Alvin’s words been for me?

I found it hilarious when I saw the shy look on Alvin’s face.

He’d always liked following me around when we were little, playing make-belief games, playing bride and groom with me, and even telling Dad that he wanted to marry me when we both grew up.

However, when he saw Selena for the first time, he immediately shifted all his attention to her and began bootlicking her instead.

In fact, when Selena bullied me at home, he would also take her side and watch me with cold eyes, telling me to know my place.

Alvin walked up to Selena with a shy, gentle smile in his eyes and tucked away a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. “You’re so beautiful, Selena.”

Alvin then turned around and glared sharply at me. “And you. You’re nothing but a starving street rat. How dare you imply that you’re the real heiress? You impostor!

“Sabrina Bloomberg, even if you were to get on your knees and grovel, I’d still never spare you another glance!

“There is only one person I love, and that is Selena Bloomberg, the true heiress of the Bloomberg family!”

Before, Alvin used to swear to the moon, the stars, and the sky that he would never love anyone else but me. But now, he had turned into a shameless lapdog who also framed me as the impostor instead of Selena.

There had been quite a number of guests who were still on the fence about my identity. But after Alvin spoke, they immediately believed him and began hurling insults at me.

“Ms. Selena is too kind. She’s been putting up with that stray rat for far too long. Who would have thought that her kindness would be met with such ungratefulness?”

“That orphan is such an ingrate, biting the hand that fed her. Sir Ralph should have just let her starve to death by the roadside back then.”

Selena grinned slightly, unable to hide the glee in her eyes.

I watched as she exchanged eye contact with Alvin. Instead of getting mad, I just laughed and removed a pendant from around my neck. The pendant was shaped like an intricate snowflake with threads of red intertwining with its largely snow-white body.

I raised the pendant in the air and said, “This is the Bloomberg family heirloom, the Crimson Snowgem. Only the real Bloomberg heiress has the right to own and wear it!

“Do you have this in your possession, Selena Bloomberg?”

Everyone immediately stepped forward to take a closer look at the stone in my hands, trying to discern if it was real or fake.

Quite a number of them were my parents’ friends, and they exclaimed in wonder when they saw it.

“I’d heard of Sir Ralph mentioning it in the past. It seems that Sabrina is the true heiress after all!”

“That’s weird. In that case, why did Mr. Bloomberg tell us that Sir Ralph invited us to this party to also introduce Selena to the elite class for the sake of her future?”

Selena panicked at once, her face turning pale. She had never heard of the Crimson Snowgem before, and she most definitely did not own it.

Suddenly, Alvin laughed and said, “Sabrina, did you really think you could fool us into thinking that some stupid plastic stone you randomly picked up was the actual Bloomberg heirloom?

“How about I just grab a toothpick from the ground and say that it was the same toothpick the dinosaurs used a gazillion years ago?”

The public was swayed by his words again, and their gazes flickered between me and Selena, unsure of what to think.

Since I was born and raised in an elite family, I had been taught since a young age how to act, talk, and behave with poise and grace. I carried myself with elegance and nobility in my everyday life.

Even though Selena had also been provided an education since she entered the Bloomberg family, she was unable to erase the wickedness and cruelty with which she had been born. No amount of mimicry or impersonation was able to hide that part of her.

Selena was starting to feel less confident now, but she was still as stubborn as ever in trying to defend herself.

“You say that you’re the real Bloomberg heiress. But if that’s the case, why am I the one always accompanying Justin to important events and meetings instead of you?”

Alvin looked at me and decided that I was being too much of an eyesore. “Selena has always treated you like she would her own sister, but you repaid her kindness with evilness and ungratefulness instead. You shameless brat!”

Both Selena and Alvin continued insulting me, one after another, much like they’d rehearsed it prior. Thus, the public opinion started swaying in their favor once more.

I had wanted to continue arguing further, but a few security guards had already rushed up to me and grabbed me by my arms.

Lacey immediately came up to me and slapped me hard across the cheek in retaliation. However, she wasn’t satisfied, and she continued attacking my face with her purse.

“You’re just a lowly street rat the Bloombergs picked up! How dare you try to steal away what rightfully belongs to Selena? Apologize to her right now!”

Blood splattered from my mouth and began dripping down onto the floor in a pattern like a deadly flower.

I glared at the three of them and let out a roar full of hatred.

“Wait till Mom and Dad return! We’ll see how you’ll answer to them then!”

In my past life, Selena had replaced me as the Bloomberg heiress. Mom and Dad never suspected a thing, even after Selena killed me and threw my body in the river in the middle of the night.

In fact, they even thought that I’d run away from home and spent the rest of their lives searching for me.

This time, I’d told Mom and Dad about what was happening as soon as I could, asking them to hurry home as quickly as they could because something terrible was happening.

I did a quick mental calculation. At the latest, Mom and Dad should be arriving in a few minutes.

Selena watched as I spat blood from my mouth and chuckled nonchalantly.

“Mom and Dad are busy overseas. They’d never come back. You don’t even bother using your brain anymore when telling such a lie, do you?

“Also, Alvin’s parents have been friends with Mom and Dad for decades. They even manage a few international businesses together. So what if I marry Alvin instead of you? Mom and Dad won’t be able to oppose us, even if they found out about it later.”

Before she was done speaking, however, someone suddenly yelled, “Preposterous! What the hell is going on here?”

Chapter 3

I looked up and saw Justin walking toward us with eight bodyguards in tow.

The security guards holding me down got such a fright that they immediately let go of me and shied away to the sidelines.

Selena initially fell to the floor in fear. However, when she saw that it was Justin, she quickly heaved a sigh of relief and shot me another gloating smile.

Sandy, now bruised and battered with marks on her face, was shoved to the ground next to me by one of Justin’s bodyguards. She looked like she was trying her best not to cry.

Justin walked toward us at this moment. First, he gave Selena a quick once-over. After making sure that she was fine, he then cast me an icy glance, the disgust clearly showing in his eyes.

“Fortunately for you, Selena seems to be unscathed. Otherwise, I’d never forgive a street beggar like you, no matter how much you groveled!”

In my past life, Justin would always side with Selena no matter what happened. To survive, I tried my best to mimic everything Selena did just to try and receive Justin’s favor. Still, they treated me like a clown and kept bullying and humiliating me until I lost all of my dignity.

Eventually, people who didn’t know any better came to believe that I was the adopted daughter instead of her.

This time, however, I finally understood that it was useless to curry favor with someone who already despised me. All my effort would be in vain anyway, so why bother?

I chuckled coldly and replied with a huff, “What? Trying to get me to act like Selena again? Did you want me to learn to be as ungrateful as her? Or learn how to be an impostor like she is?

“She’s just an orphan. What is there for me to mimic about her? Justin Bloomberg, did you really think that you’d still be able to fool everyone with your pathetic act?”

When the guests saw that Justin was on Selena’s side, they started rallying behind him.

“Oh my God! The street rat actually dared to talk back to Mr. Bloomberg while also bullying Ms. Selena? Talk about guts!”

“I think I finally understand what it means to be an ingrate. Just look at her! She’s just a lowly peasant, yet she tried to steal the heiress title and replace Ms. Selena in elite society. Let her have it!”

Sandy, who’d been with me since I was a young child, wiped the tears from her face and pointed at Selena in anger.

“She is the one who was picked up from the streets! Ms. Sabrina Bloomberg is the true heiress of the Bloomberg family!”

Justin immediately went up to her and slapped her hard across the cheek. “How dare you accuse Selena of such a thing! I should kill you!”

Then, Justin turned to face me and glared at me with cold eyes. “Were you the one who told her to frame Selena?

“I’ve been too lenient with you, haven’t I? That’s why you’ve been causing so much trouble lately. I ought to teach you a lesson!”

Alvin hugged Selena like he was protecting her from me and said, “Selena is the only person I love. Don’t you even think of marrying me, Sabrina Bloomberg. I’d rather die than lay a single finger on you!”

Immediately after that, Alvin handed the huge bouquet of roses to Selena and got down on one knee, proposing to her with a multi-million-dollar diamond ring.

“Selena, I will spend the rest of my life proving that you are the one and only person I love. Will you marry me?”

Selena covered her mouth in faux shock, so touched that tears began spilling from her eyes.

“Yes, I will!”

The first thing Selena did after Alvin slid the engagement ring on her finger was to gloat in private.

However, when she saw that I was still watching, she pretended to look upset.

“I thought Sabrina was quite pitiful in the past. I’d always thought of her as my own sibling, letting her have everything she wanted. But I never thought that this street beggar would turn out to be such an ingrate and try to replace me as the true heiress of the Bloomberg family.”

While speaking, tears gathered in her eyes and slid down her cheeks, making her look small and pitiful. Justin and the other guests immediately went up to comfort her.

She pretended to wipe away her crocodile tears and turned to face the rest of the guests, continuing with her pitiful act to sway everyone’s opinions such that they would take her side.

“Now, everyone should know by now who’s the real heiress and who’s the fake heiress.”

Selena glanced at me briefly with a victorious look on her face. The provocation in her eyes was too obvious to all.

I chuckled to myself. She was just about to meet her doom, but she still didn’t know it yet.

When Justin saw that I still hadn’t apologized, he grabbed my wrist and started yelling in my face.

“You still dare to smile? Get down on your knees and beg for Selena’s forgiveness! If not, I’m going to banish you from the Bloomberg family!”

Selena would have loved to chase me out a long time ago. However, because she was still trying to appeal to the guests’ empathy, she had to pretend she was asking Justin to go easy on me.

“Don’t be mad at her anymore, Justin. She’s just an impostor with terrible acting skills. Nobody would ever be fooled by her terrible act.

“Sabrina, it’s bad enough that you keep bullying and humiliating me daily at home, but have you ever thought what your actions today would do to the Bloomberg family’s reputation? Are you trying to make us the laughingstock of the country?”

Justin kicked the back of my knees hard. “Get down on your knees and apologize!”

I put up with the pain and refused to budge.

Justin was just an older cousin of mine. Since he was young, he’d always used the excuse of visiting Mom and Dad to always appear at my house while mostly treating it as his own.

In truth, he just wanted to take advantage of my parents’ influence to establish his spot in the elite society. And just as he wished, Mom and Dad introduced him to many of their connections when he was as young as ten years old. Thanks to that, Justin was now doing very well on his own.

I had always treated Justin as my own brother and was very respectful toward him.

Eventually, as Mom and Dad became busier and spent more time overseas, they decided to make him the head of the household for the time being since they trusted him very much.

However, Justin ended up favoring an outsider instead of his own family member.

I met Justin’s cold gaze with another glare of my own. I wasn’t the least bit scared of him.

“Justin Bloomberg, have you forgotten that you’re just a guest in our family? Did you really think you had the power to make me get on my knees for someone?”

Justin chuckled. “You say I have no power? Your mom and dad aren’t here, so my word is the truth now!

“Not kneeling, are you? Fine. Guards, throw Sabrina out of here. Also, she’s now banished from the Bloomberg family for the rest of her life!”

Selena lifted her head in glee, unable to hide it in her eyes anymore.

“Did you think that I’d be as merciful as Justin and just let you off the hook like that?

“Well, since you refuse to admit your wrongdoings, you’ve got nobody to blame but yourself. Guards! Seize her and slash her face to ribbons, then pull her tongue out! We’ll see how she tries to impersonate me then!”

Justin simply nodded in approval.

Selena thought that she was finally going to win this time.

Just then, a large team of bodyguards in black swarmed in through the front door, pushing all the guests aside and clearing out a path.

A loud, booming voice, laced with anger and iciness, then sounded from the door.

“Who dares to slash my daughter’s face to ribbons and pull her tongue out?”
