I had always been naturally celibate. Yet somehow, I still ended up chemically castrating myself.
It was all because, in my previous life, my wife’s precious idealized lover, a libidinous playboy, went viral as a pickup artist and dumped every side effect of his indulgent lifestyle onto me.
He spent nights partying in hotel rooms with groups of women while I collapsed from kidney failure and was rushed to the ER.
He lounged in clubs with women in both arms, downing bottle after bottle, while I went into an allergic shock and nearly died.
I confronted my wife about it, but she shoved me away impatiently. “Shane already told me nothing happened with those women! You’re just jealous and faking illness to slander him!”
However, the playboy’s actions only escalated. Chasing bigger thrills, he even started getting involved with men in drag. Thanks to him, I caught an STD, which pushed my wife to demand a divorce.
I went to the hospital for treatment, but the doctors could not find the cause. Instead, they tossed me straight into an addiction rehab program.
Later, for the sake of boosting his live stream numbers, the playboy went wild in Southwind Asira’s nightlife scene. After he spent an entire night drowning in pleasure, I, drained past my limit, collapsed and died on the spot.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the very day he began his online hunt.
Chapter 1
A sharp pain shot through my back as a message from the group chat popped up on my phone. It was a fan group of a libidinous playboy.
Without thinking, I opened the group chat, and there was Shane Canfield, the group leader, showing off photos of himself with dozens of women and bragging about his latest flirty adventures.
Nothing had changed, even though it felt like I had started a new life.
Every time Shane flirted around, I ended up feeling the consequences.
I was so mad that I wanted to call him out right there in the chat, but then he tagged everyone.
[Guys, I heard the bar in Southelon is a great place to meet drunk women. I’m heading there now!]
[Who’s in? I’ll share my flirting tips with you tonight!]
He left a creepy voice message, and a whole bunch of people quickly made plans to join him.
Seeing Shane off to have fun again, I grabbed my car keys, determined to stop him at the bar in Southelon. If not, he would eventually wreck me with his wild ways.
However, just as I was about to leave, my wife, Wren Larsen, who had just gotten home, blocked my way. She looked at me with a deep frown, clearly upset. “Jasper, where are you off to at this hour?”
I was about to reply when I caught the smell of cologne on her, the same kind Shane always wore.
Ever since Shane, her old sweetheart, came back to town, she had not shared a bed with me. She claimed sleeping apart would bring us closer, but now, she was covered in another man’s scent.
I was so mad that I showed her Shane’s flirty messages and photos from the group chat.
“Seriously, what do you think I’m off to do? I’m just trying to stop your precious Shane from causing trouble and wrecking my life!”
However, Wren barely gave my phone screen a look before she burst out laughing at me.
“Jasper, you’re not going to tell me that you’ve lost your spark because Shane’s out there flirting with girls, are you? Look, if it’s not working, it’s not working. Why blame Shane and make up excuses?”
It was the same in my previous life.
After Shane started flirting all over the place, I started feeling really weak, and things between me and Wren were just not right anymore.
Hence, I got suspicious of Shane and sneaked into this group chat.
However, Wren just adored Shane. She would not even listen to me.
“You’re not up to it, that’s all. Why make up stories and badmouth Shane?
“Shane told me himself, he’s just playing around with those girls. Nothing’s really happening! You’re probably just jealous because Shane’s got game, and you’re making up stories to get my sympathy!”
After that, Wren got so mad that she moved out and even chose to live right next door to Shane. Every time I tried to apologize and make things right, she would just kick me out without a second thought.
Even when I fainted at her door from being so drained, Wren just laughed at me while hanging onto Shane’s arm.
“Hey! Done with your little act? Don’t think faking being sick will win me back! If a guy can’t cut it, he’s just a loser!”
For three whole months, Wren and Shane got up to no good. I was so weak from kidney problems that I ended up in the hospital 20 times and even caught an STD.
Shane, always looking for a thrill, had decided to visit the brothels in the Southwind Asira red-light district. After one crazy night, my body just could not take it anymore, and I dropped dead.
However, I woke up to a second chance at life. This time, I was determined to change my fate!
Ignoring Wren’s sneering, I walked out the door with purpose.
Instead of heading straight to Shane’s favorite bar, I made a beeline for the emergency room. “Doctor, I’m overly libidinous. Can you give me a castration?”
Chapter 2
The doctor was shocked that someone would ask for a castration.
I acted like I had no choice, saying it was so bad that it could kill me. The doctor was scared but could not do much except give me medicine to calm down my urges. He warned me to take the medicine according to the prescription or I could get really sick from it.
I agreed and took off to the bar in Southelon where Shane was bragging about his latest adventures.
When I got there, Shane was living it up with a bunch of women. He saw me coming, all fired up, and teased, “Hey, why if it isn’t Mr. Gibson? What’s got you visiting the bar tonight?
“Wren told everyone you’ve lost your touch, and here you are, at the bar late at night, instead of cozying up with your wife at home!”
The moment the words were out, the whole bar erupted in laughter. The women Shane had brought along to keep him company gave me looks of disgust.
However, I ignored their sneers and just stared at Shane coldly.
I had downed a whole bottle of pills that were meant to dampen my desires on my way over.
Any regular guy would have been ready to hit the hay after that. However, Shane? He was laughing it up, playing around with women, and getting handsy.
Maybe the medicine was not strong enough?
Just then, Shane flashed a mean grin. “Mr. Gibson, are you here to join my club?” He slung an arm around me like we were best buds. “Should’ve said so sooner! Come on, bro. I’ll show you how to win a lady’s heart!”
With a big gesture, he ordered a bottle of Ace of Spades champagne that cost a whopping 15 thousand dollars.
The women went wild, jumping around and cuddling up to him, letting him flirt as much as he wanted. They said in between giggles, “Mr. Canfield, you’re the best! How about you stick with me tonight?”
Shane gulped down his drink, kissing and hugging these women, having the time of his life.
Meanwhile, my face turned beet red, a sure sign I was allergic to the booze. I shivered and glared at Shane, knowing full well he was doing all that just to get under my skin!
I held back the pain and, with a burst of anger, knocked all the drinks off the table.
Right away, Shane and the women in their tiny tops started screaming.
Shane, who was super drunk, grabbed my shirt and yelled at me, “Jasper, are you crazy? This bottle of fancy champagne cost me 15 thousand dollars! Can you pay for that?!
“You’re just mad because you can’t do things right, and now, you’re taking it out on everyone else!”
I was so mad and ready to argue with him, but then Wren showed up out of nowhere. She did not even try to find out what was going on and just slapped me right across the face.
“Jasper! When will you stop making a scene? Aren’t you just jealous of Shane?”
After she said that, she ran to Shane and hugged him, asking worriedly, “Shane, are you okay? Did Jasper hurt you?”
I watched them being all lovey-dovey in front of me and felt sick. I swallowed the pills I had in my pocket. The doctor said taking too many could make me really sick. However, Shane did not seem affected at all.
I was the one who started feeling super sick and dizzy. Ugh, I did not think the mysterious power to transfer side effects would only work one way!
Wren, looking really upset, helped Shane up and they walked away. Before they left, she told me, “Jasper, if you keep this up, we’re going to get a divorce right away!”
After they were gone, I just could not hold on anymore and fell to the ground.
Luckily, I managed to mess up Shane’s plans tonight, and I did not end up in the hospital with a scary allergic reaction to alcohol like I did in my previous life.
It took me a while, but I finally got up, said sorry to the bar owner, and went home to rest.
However, once I was in bed, I just could not fall asleep. I knew that until I figured out what was really going on, Shane could have me in a tight spot at any time.
As I was trying to think of a way out, a sharp pain hit me in the stomach, and I started to feel dizzy and see spots.
I was hugging the toilet, throwing up so much that I thought I was going to pass out. I thought maybe I had taken too much medicine.
I was about to call for help on my phone when I saw a new message from Shane pop up in the group chat.
Without thinking, I tapped on it and saw he was bragging about having used a bunch of condoms. He had even posted a photo in the chat.
[Guys, check out what I just did. Pretty awesome, right?]
Chapter 3
There must have been at least 30 condoms in that photo, showing just how wild Shane’s night had been.
However, he said ‘just’? Didn’t he leave with Wren a little while ago?
A wave of doubt crashed over me, and my hands shook as I zoomed in on the photo to take a closer look. That was when I saw the tattoo on the woman’s backit was just like Wren’s.
I was so mad that I could not hold back. I grabbed my phone and called Wren right away.
However, to my surprise, Shane picked up.
He acted like he did not know a thing and said in a calm voice, “Mr. Gibson, are you looking for Wren? Oh, she’s asleep right now. If it’s not important, let’s not wake her, okay?”
When I heard those shameless words, I was so mad that I yelled, “You two cheaters! Tell me! What have you done to me? Why do I suffer every time you go out flirting with women?”
However, Shane did not answer. He was too busy boasting in his group chat about not having enough fun and wanting to look for more women to party with all night.
I felt so sick that I started throwing up like crazy, shaking all over because I was so weak.
Shane acted like he did not get it at all.
“Jasper, are you imagining things? You’re the one with the problem, but you blame me. You’re not just jealous because I’m better at this than you, are you? You’re just trying to make Wren like you again by pretending and talking trash about me, huh?
“Well, if you admit you’re pretending, I’ll stop flirting around.”
A new user called “Crimson Queen” had appeared in the group chat, and it instantly dredged up the awful memories of getting sick in my previous life.
Worried he would cause more trouble, I finally said with tears in my eyes, “Yes, you’re right! I’m just pretending. Happy now?”
Right then, I heard Wren’s angry voice on the other end of the phone. “Jasper, you’re hopeless! I want a divorce!”
Shane just laughed and hung up.
After feeling super dizzy again, I used the last bit of my strength to call for an ambulance.
Luckily, they got here fast, and I woke up six hours later.
However, the doctor could not figure out what was wrong with me.
I did not ask any more questions and just asked to leave the hospital. I ran straight to Shane’s place. As soon as I swung the door open, I pressed a knife right up to his throat.
“J-Jasper, what in the world are you doing?” he stammered.
I was done playing games with him and glared with all my might. “I’m not here to make small talk. Out with it! Why am I getting sick from all your nasty dating games?”
Shane looked at me with puppy-dog eyes. “What are you even talking about? You don’t actually think everyone’s out to get you, do you?”
I yelled at the top of my lungs, “Cut the act! Talk, now!”
Shane let out a yelp. “Alright, alright, I’ll spill the beans!”
However, in a flash, he switched to a look of sorrow: “Wren, help me!”
Before I knew it, Wren had crept up behind me and smashed a vase over my head. Blood poured out instantly.
“Jasper, how could you lay a finger on Shane? You’re asking for trouble!”
Wren did not waste a second and called the cops, saying I needed to be taught a lesson.
With the room suddenly full of officers, Wren played them a recording from that night with Shane.
“Officer, Jasper’s convinced Shane’s out to get him, but just listen, he admitted he’s just been pretending! He even pulled a knife on Shane today. Clearly, he’s lost his marbles. Aren’t you going to arrest him?”
The cops were on the fence until they heard my voice in the recording. “Yes, exactly! I was only pretending.”
Their expressions turned stern, and they slapped cuffs on me.
They warned me seriously, “You’re in big trouble for threatening someone’s life!”
I fought like crazy, trying to get my words out, but then I caught Shane out of the corner of my eye, laughing and chugging vodka without a care in the world.
Suddenly, my throat felt like it was being squeezed by an invisible hand.
I could not control my arms and legs. They were shaking and twitching as I tried to ask the people around me for help.
However, Wren just laughed calmly.
“See, officer? This faker is putting on a show again! Today’s your chance to see it for yourself!”
Chapter 4
Everything started to go dark before my eyes. Holding on to my last breath, I grabbed the police officer’s sleeve.
“I’m not faking… Please, I need to go to the hospital.”
The officer looked at my ghost-white face and realized something was wrong. He quickly got ready to take me out of there.
However, Wren stood in our way, throwing the divorce papers in my face.
“Sign them and then get lost! I can’t take this anymore!”
Then, everything went black.
When I woke up in the hospital, the doctor was scratching his head, puzzled. He could not figure out why I had gone into an allergic shock when there was no alcohol in my system.
He suggested I might want to talk to a psychiatrist.
I just smiled sadly. I was the only one who knew the truth. The allergy was not mine; it was Shane’s. He had somehow made it so that I would face the effects of his allergy.
The police were confused but had to keep me in the hospital because I had threatened someone with a knife.
I decided to use the time to get some rest.
My parents came to look after me for a few days. When they heard about the divorce, they did not say much. They just told me not to worry.
With a smile, I promised them I would not. However, out of nowhere, a terrible pain hit my stomach. It felt like all the strength was being sucked out of me, and I could not stop the darkness from closing in.
Without thinking, I clicked on the group chat for flirts and saw Shane’s video of him landing in Southwind Asira. He was laughing and running around the red-light district, yelling, “Guys, I’m in heaven!”
I held my aching back, shaking with anger, wishing I could chop Shane into a thousand pieces.
Right then, a mysterious call came in.
I finally got what was going on.
Over the next few days, Shane became famous for his hook-ups on international websites.
Since he was abroad and out of reach of the cops back home, he started flirty live streams on the dark web. He even dared to stream a challenge where he would sleep with as many women as he could in one day.
In my previous life, that challenge killed me. However, this time, I just relaxed and watched his stream. I even sent the link to Wren.
The day of the challenge came, and his stream blew up to the top spot. Shane looked wild with excitement, working hard with all kinds of women. However, when he got to the fifth woman, his expression went weird, and he stopped cold.
The live chat went wild, joking that he could not keep up.
Wren was all over the chat, bombarding him with questions.
[Shane, why go after other women? You said it was just an act, right? Why do this now?]
[Don’t you like me anymore? You said I was your treasure, didn’t you?]
[I even got a divorce for you. Those other women are nothing compared to me. Please come back! I’ll make you happy!]
Wren was losing her mind, and Shane was so annoyed that he just pretended not to see her comments. He planned to continue with his live stream.
However, before he could get back into the groove, in the next second, he embarrassingly failed in front of thousands of live viewers.
The chat exploded with laughter, teasing him for not being able to handle it. He just collapsed, feeling totally weak.
I could not help but laugh until I doubled over when I saw what happened.
Wren’s call came soon after. “You loser, what did you do to Shane?”
I just chuckled calmly.
