Blurb:
When I woke up in Ashton Ford’s bed, I knew something was wrong. He tossed me a card and coldly ordered me to leave, all while worrying about Sunny Olson’s tantrum. But the real shock came when comments flooded my vision—they called me a gold-digger, claimed Ashton’s heart belonged only to Sunny, and whispered about his dead first love, Elizabeth Miller.
The problem? I am Elizabeth Miller.
Now, trapped in a world where everyone thinks I’m gone, I see the truth: Ashton, my childhood rival, is entangled with Sunny, a woman who leaves lookalikes in his bed as a twisted game. The comments rage, demanding I disappear, but one hidden message changes everything: “Elizabeth, save Ashton.”
As the ninth woman to bear her face, I won’t be cast aside easily. This time, I’ll uncover why Ashton clings to my memory and what Sunny truly wants. But with every step, the comments grow fiercer, and Ashton’s obsession deepens. Can I reclaim my life before Sunny erases me for good?

When I open my eyes again, I notice that I’m lying on the bed of my archnemesis, Ashton Ford.
Ashton calmly puts on his clothes before tossing a card at me, telling me to get out. He then looks at the caretaker stationed by the door and asks helplessly, Is Sunny still throwing a tantrum? Tell her that we’re going to be engaged soon. She can’t leave women in my bed just because she’s angry.
I’m about to say something when a stream of comments appears before my eyes.
“Here comes another one hoping to sleep her way into a prestigious position. Mr. Ford only loves Sunny. If she didn’t comfort him, he might have taken his own life after what happened to Elizabeth a long time ago.”
“Can the author stop trying to force these flings onto him? It wasn’t easy for Sunny to achieve success after taking over as the female lead. I want to see them live a sweet married life.”
“Unless Mr. Ford’s dead first love, Elizabeth Miller, comes back to life, no one can possibly touch Sunny’s position in Mr. Ford’s heart.”
Confusion is written all over my face.
I’m Elizabeth Miller. Since when did I become Ashton’s first love?
Chapter 1
Ashton Ford ran an impatient hand through his hair when he saw me still lying motionlessly on the bed. He lit a cigarette as he strode over to me. He then leaned down and caged me between his arms.
I coughed violently when he blew a mouthful of smoke in my face. Unable to hold myself back, I slapped him hard across the face. “Do you have a death wish, Ashton?”
Ashton’s cheek immediately reddened. However, he didn’t seem to be angered at all. Instead, he licked his lips and grasped my chin.
“I admit that you look a lot like Elizabeth, but at the end of the day, you’re not her. Take the money and leave. Don’t try to curry favor with me again. Sunny will get angry.”
Ashton’s statement seemed to excite whoever was sending the comments.
“Look at how Ashton’s protecting his wife! I love their dynamic so mucha delicate woman who’s like the sun, and a cold and ruthless man. Who wouldn’t love a couple like that?”
“Am I the only one who thinks that this woman is actually Elizabeth reborn? She’s the spitting image of her.”
“She probably got plastic surgery. The last time Sunny got angry, the woman whom she left in Ashton’s bed also looked really similar to Elizabeth.”
“The author isn’t going to surprise us with something angsty, right? This slut needs to disappear right now. We only want to see the sweet romance between Ashton and Sunny.”
“I’m not the first one, am I?” I asked suddenly, stunning Ashton momentarily.
“What?”
I stared into his eyes and asked again, “I’m not the first woman who looks like her who was left in your bed, right?”
Ashton laughed helplessly, sounding impossibly fond. “You’re the ninth one. Sunny tends to leave women in my bed when she gets angry, but there’s nothing much I can do to stop her.”
Another string of comments flooded my vision, squealing about how adorable Ashton’s and Sunny Olson’s relationship was.
“This is just one of the ways to spice up a relationship. A stupid woman like her wouldn’t get it.”
“Did you hear how fond Mr. Ford sounded? He’s the picture-perfect representation of a Daddy-type boyfriend.”
“That slut needs to stay away from Mr. Ford right now. He needs to save himself for Sunny.”
At the very bottom of the barrage of comments, I spotted one that was starkly different from the others. “Elizabeth, please help Ashton. You have to save him!”
However, the comment disappeared in the blink of an eye, making me suspect that my eyes had been playing tricks on me.
I rose to my feet and grabbed the card that Ashton had tossed on the bed. Unable to help myself, I tapped his shoulder and said, “Your girlfriend sure has a twisted sense of humor. I’ll be looking forward to our next meeting.”
Ashton and I were essentially childhood friends. But we were a little different compared to other childhood friendswe were more like sworn enemies.
He loved to pull my braids when we were younger, and I would retaliate by slapping him. Even though he would always run back home wailing after I hit him, he never learned his lesson not to cross me.
Fortunately, he always carried fruit candy in his pocket. I would always reluctantly forgive him because he would always generously share the candy with me.
When we were in high school, whenever I got second place in the class while Ashton got first place, he would boast about his results directly to my face. He would hold up his test papers and point out my mistakes. To “thank” him for his help, I would always repay him with two slaps across the face.
Relying completely on myself, I established a company after we grew up. The company did well and became quite successful.
Ashton, the copycat, also established a company of his own and secretly competed with me, always trying to steal my projects away from me. However, whenever he successfully poached one of my projects, he would compensate me with one that was even better.
I thought that we would keep competing with each other for a long time, but my life was cut short when one of my enemies stabbed me multiple times to take revenge on me.
Before I lost consciousness, I saw Ashton rushing over to me with tears streaming down his face.
“I’m begging you, Elizabeth. Don’t die. Don’t leave me”
I thought he was being exceptionally noisy at the time.
Chapter 2
My head was still hurting when I snapped out of my thoughts. I was able to more or less piece together the big picture after reading the comments.
Five years had passed since I passed away.
Three years ago, Sunny Olson appeared like a ray of sunlight, illuminating Ashton’s life. After getting to know each other for two years, Ashton finally let go of his feelings for me and became Sunny’s boyfriend. They were scheduled to get married in the next three days.
So, why did I suddenly come back to life? Why did the comment say that I need to save Ashton?
I had no idea what was going on. I was lost in my thoughts as I walked, and I found myself standing before my company building when I snapped back to my senses. I wondered who took charge of my company after I passed away, hoping it wasn’t my useless brothers.
I decided to head inside to take a look. I had poured my blood, sweat, and tears into the company and wasn’t willing to give up on it so easily.
When I entered, I saw a large group of employees standing in two neat lines in the hall. They were speaking respectfully to a woman.
“Good morning, Ms. Olson.”
My vision was flooded with comments once again.
“As expected of a novel where that female lead is the main character. Sunny is the president of the company despite being a womana rarity in the industry. Ashton has to make sure not to let her slip through his fingers.”
“This company used to belong to Elizabeth. If Ashton hadn’t handed it over to Sunny, she would be nothing more than a sales assistant right now. Please get your facts straight.”
“Don’t get too jealous. Sunny was able to capture Ashton’s attention through her own efforts. Why don’t you try to think of a way to revive Elizabeth? She and Sunny can have a proper fight over Ashton then.”
Ignoring the comments flashing by, I carefully studied the woman, who was standing a short distance away.
She was dressed smartly, and her appearance was similar to mine. She also had a perpetual smile on her face. There was no doubt about itit was Sunny.
I was about to step forward when I heard a woman’s voice resound in my head.
“System, what’s the progress for Ashton’s mission?”
A cold and electronic voice replied, “99%.”
“Why haven’t I been able to complete that last 1% despite how much time has passed?” the woman demanded, sounding frustrated. “I’ve already wasted two years of my life on Ashton!”
I frowned upon hearing her words.
Just then, Sunny seemed to have noticed me and began approaching me. “Did Ashton kick you out? As expected, he can only accept me. It doesn’t matter how much you look like Elizabeth, Ashton won’t show you any mercy at all.”
As she scrutinized me, the voice resounded in my head once again.
“System, how many points do I have left? Can I exchange my face with hers? Perhaps Ashton will devote himself to me if I look like her.”
A comment popped up in front of my eyes at the same time. “Be careful of Sunny and The System!”
In the next second, I could feel an overwhelming force trying to tear my face off. The pain was so excruciating that I could feel myself choking.
Sunny began cackling gleefully. “Stop struggling. You’re just an NPC. You should feel honored for being able to contribute to my mission. I’ll definitely thank you once I use your face to conquer Ashton.”
When she noticed that my face hadn’t changed, her laughter died, and her face twisted as if she had seen a ghost. “What’s going on? Your face”
I didn’t give her a chance to finish her sentence, grabbing a vase and smashing it over her head.
When Sunny fell unconscious, a blue light floated out from her head.
I swiftly grabbed it and hissed, “Don’t even think of escaping. Are you The System? What will happen to Ashton once she completes her mission?”
“He’ll die. His life force, his wealth, and everything that belongs to him will transfer to Sunny.”
I was silent for a few seconds before I smiled kindly at The System, tightening my grip on it significantly. “Let’s make a deal, Systemexcept, you don’t have a choice but to accept.”
Sunny had forgotten everything by the time she regained consciousness.
I stood a distance away and watched her as she asked The System what had happened.
The System hesitated for a moment before helping me cover up the truth.
To celebrate their upcoming marriage, Sunny planned to auction off the company’s shares at a low price.
I arrived early at the auction and chose a seat in an inconspicuous spot. I didn’t expect to end up sitting next to Sunny and Ashton.
“Ash, will you blame me for putting Elizabeth’s company up for auction?”
Ashton didn’t hesitate for even a second before answering fondly, “Of course not. I’ll support every decision that you make, Sunny.”
Naturally, his response made the comments go wild.
“I’m getting the feeling that Ashton never actually loved Elizabeth. Anyone would be sad over losing a friend. Well, whatever. At least there’s no doubt that Ashton’s and Sunny’s love for each other is genuine.”
Chapter 3
“Who wouldn’t want a Daddy-type boyfriend like Mr. Ford? Sunny’s so lucky. I wish I could exchange places with her.”
“Am I the only one who feels bad for Elizabeth? The company she worked so hard to build up is being used as a flirting tool.”
“Stop spouting nonsense, you Elizabeth-lover. Can’t you just enjoy how sweet Ashton and Sunny are right now?”
The auction kicked off while I was busy reading the comments.
25% of the company’s shares were up for auction, but the starting price was only one dollar. Everyone tripped over themselves to call out a price, worried that someone else would snatch up such an excellent deal from right under their noses.
Meanwhile, Ashton remained cool and composed until the end, when no one else was willing to call out a higher price.
The auctioneer had already struck the gavel twice. Just as I was about to hold up my sign, Ashton’s voice reverberated around the room.
“Two billion.”
Sunny’s face twisted upon hearing his words. The highest price had been two million dollars earlier, but Ashton had offered two billion dollars. More importantly, Sunny’s plan had been to sell off the company’s shares, and yet Ashton had bought them back at an astronomical price.
A flurry of complicated emotions flickered through everyone’s eyes as they looked at Sunny and Ashton.
“Ash, why did you suddenly join the bidding?” Sunny asked, unable to hold back her curiosity.
Ashton’s expression remained the same when he replied, “I suddenly realized that this company still has its uses. I need to earn more money to ensure you live a comfortable life, Sunny.”
The deal was closed when the auctioneer struck the gavel on the auction block for the last time.
Sunny stumbled to her feet. Her voice was colored with panic when she asked The System, “Did he realize that something is amiss?”
“The target is experiencing abnormal emotional fluctuations, but your mission progress hasn’t decreased. There’s nothing to worry about, Sunny.”
Sunny bit her lip. “Stupid Ashton, why can’t you forget about Elizabeth?”
I followed the crowd out of the auction hall and bumped into Ashton at the entrance. His eyes lit up slightly when he spotted me.
“Elizabeth?”
I smiled at him, saying, “We meet again, Mr. Ford. What a coincidence.”
I wanted to say more, but when I noticed Sunny approaching us, I patted Ashton’s shoulder and said, “Till next time, Ashton. Wait for me.”
On the day of the wedding, I snuck into the backstage area of the hall. According to The System, the wedding was an important event. Most of the missions would be completed today.
I wasn’t brave enough to leave Ashton’s life on the line, so I knew I had to crash the wedding. The ceremony had already progressed to the ring exchange when I made it to the hall after avoiding all the security guards.
The System transformed into a ray of blue light and flew toward me. “Stop this pointless struggle. Sunny’s seconds away from completing her mission with Ashton,” it said mockingly.
“Did you really think I would make a genuine deal with you? If Sunny dies, I’ll disappear too.”
I lifted my gaze and studied The System curiously. “Is that your weakness? Both of you will die if Sunny fails her mission?”
The System scoffed. “It’s pointless to talk about this now. The security guards stalled you enough just now. The mission will succeed any second now”
Several red exclamation marks popped up in front of us before it could finish its sentence.
“Warning! The target’s affection level is decreasing. The target’s affection level has decreased by 10%… 30%…”
Sunny, who had just been about to slip the ring on Ashton’s finger, had also received the warning. Her voice was colored with panic when she asked, “System, what’s going on? Why is the affection level decreasing?”
The only response she received was a cold and indifferent announcement.
“The target’s affection level has decreased by 50%.”
Sunny looked at Ashton in fear. As expected, a hateful expression had appeared on his face.
“Mission failure! Mission failure! Mission failure!”
Sunny retreated a few steps and stumbled to the floor when a piercing noise reverberated in her ears. Why was this happening? She had been so close to succeeding. What went wrong?
The System asked me the same questions.
“What did you do?”
“I didn’t do anything,” I replied lightly. “I just chose to believe in Ashton. After all, he only ended up this way because he brought me back to life. I believe that he definitely won’t forget about me.”
The System seemed to be struck with a realization. “You You’re the real Elizabeth Miller?” it asked in disbelief.
