Just as I was about to be switched at birth and doomed to a life as a fake heiress, I was jolted awake by a stream of live comments flooding my vision.

OMG, the scholarship boy is so smart! Sneaking off with the billionaire’s daughter to swap her with his sick sister. His sister’s heart condition might actually have a chance now.

“My heart breaks for him! He had to send his sister away silently and bear the burden of his alcoholic mom and deadbeat dad. His life is tragic.”

“Stop pitying him! He’s got our Vivian! She helped him with chores as a kid, and after the identity reveal, she gave up her wealthy life to marry him. He hit the jackpot!”

What a bleak, predictable future of nothing but hardship.

I let out a loud, wailing cry, startling everyone awake.

The quiet hospital room erupted into chaos.

Kyle Sullivan, his young face pale with panic, clamped a sweaty hand over my screaming mouth. Beads of cold sweat trickled down his temples.

My dad, who’d been in the next office, burst through the door.

His gaze locked onto me in Kyle’s arms, and his expression instantly darkened.

“Kid, what are you doing holding my daughter?”

My dad stood six-foot-four, built like a linebacker, radiating an intimidating aura.

Most people would shrink under that stare, but Kyle, though momentarily stunned, quickly composed himself.

“Sir, I’m a patient here. I noticed your daughter’s sleeping position might twist her neck. I was just trying to adjust her.”

The floating text exploded with praise.

“OMG, the male lead is a genius! Who would suspect a five-year-old?”

“LOL, our boy Kyle is the brains. If it wasn’t for his family dragging him down, he’d be famous nationwide.”

“Ugh, Vivian crying at the worst time! What’s there to cry about? That’s her future hubby! She’ll be glued to him later.”

“She needs to get used to Kyle’s arms! Didn’t work today, but he’ll find another way. Messing it up next time would be so ungrateful after all his effort.”

My dad eyed Kyle skeptically.

The more I “read,” the more terrified I became. Kyle Sullivan was unhinged.

I wailed louder, spitting at Kyle while desperately trying to catch my dad’s eye, rolling my dark eyes dramatically.

Dad finally got it. He slapped his thigh, pointing at Kyle. “Hold on! Something’s definitely wrong here!”

He barked orders for an immediate investigation.

Kyle was just a kid, his plan clumsy and full of holes.

In less than thirty minutes, his scheme to steal me away so his sister with the heart condition could become the real Lancaster heiress was exposed.

The entire hospital was in shock.

My dad’s face was thunderous. He was furious.

I sucked fiercely on my pacifier, staring at Kyle’s ashen face, gulping down milk like a champ.

Dad called security and had Kyle thrown out.

Kyle stared back at me with intense reluctance and bitter resentment.

Just before leaving, Kyle’s smartwatch buzzed with a call from the doctor.

“Your sister’s critical. Come take her home.”

A baby girl’s heart-wrenching cry echoed from the speaker.

Kyle’s eyes reddened. He begged my dad to save his sister, Sophie Sullivan.

I took a sharp breath. Kyle Sullivan had some nerve.

Dad snorted derisively and coldly told him to get lost.

Kyle clenched his small fists, then seemed to steel himself, his gaze turning defiant.

“Sir, taking Vivian wasn’t just about saving my sister.”

“Every word I say next is the absolute truth.”

Kyle looked directly at me, his young face softening unnervingly.

“Sir, I can see the future. I’m Vivian’s future husband.”

“She’ll fall for me, give up her fortune just to marry me.”

“And I love her too. Taking her… I just missed her so much.”

Kyle lowered his thick lashes, projecting an air of fragile vulnerability.

To prove his point, Kyle rattled off a string of deeply buried Lancaster family secrets.

Dad’s eyes widened further with each revelation, staring at Kyle in disbelief.

But he didn’t know I could see the real sourceKyle’s comment stream.

“Yasss King! He used to just chat with us, now he’s using our info to bamboozle Mr. Lancaster! So smart!”

“Keep going Kyle! Scare the old man! I’ve got loads more Lancaster dirt!”

“Move over, I’ll do it! Kyle, Mr. Lancaster cries during… private time.”

“STFU! That’ll just make him mad! Kyle! Kyle! Vivian’s Swiss bank account password is 123456. It’s meant for the Female Lead.”

I choked on my milk, coughing violently, my face turning red.

So that’s what I was seeing. Kyle Sullivan’s personal fan club commentary.

Dad frantically patted my back while frowning at Kyle.

Kyle looked frantic, his voice urgent.

“So… can you help my sister now?”

“Sophie is Vivian’s sister too. Vivian will adore Sophie later.”

The text fervently agreed.

“He’s right! Vivian never blamed Sophie for stealing her life. She even let Sophie stay with the Lancasters!”

“Poor baby Sophie! She grew up rich but sickly, drowning in meds. Not like Vivian, hauling water jugs for cash at three!”

“But Sophie’s sweet! Never bullied Vivian for being ‘common.’ She shared her inheritance stocks with Vivian, even ‘shared’ her amazing brother. It’s a win-win!”

I stared silently at the text, wondering if I was hallucinating.

A story of theft and malice… spun as kindness?

This commentary was insane.

After calming me down, Dad seemed genuinely considering helping Sophie.

Father-daughter intuition. I knew exactly what he was thinking.

Kyle’s “predictions” held too much weight to ignore.

Just saving a life? I knew since before I was born C Dad was obscenely wealthy. Money was no object.

But I refused to let Dad be played for a fool.

I unleashed another glass-shattering wail. Mom woke up too.

Dad quickly placed me in Mom’s arms, rapidly explaining everything.

My mom slapped Dad across the face.

Dad looked stunned.

Mom didn’t hold back. “He tried to steal our daughter, and you want to help his sister?!”

“Future husband? A little boy who plots to swap babies is full of schemes.”

“If he really loved our Vivian, he wouldn’t want her suffering in poverty!”

My big, brawny dad let out a wounded sniffle.

Kyle knew it was over. He glared at my mom, his voice dripping with icy hatred and a veiled curse.

“Ma’am, mark my words. Your daughter will be obsessed with me.”

“You refuse to help Sophie now? I’ll make your daughter hate you with every fiber of her being.”

“Just like I hate you.”

Kyle slammed the door on his way out.

Mom and Dad exchanged a look full of dread.

Dad ran a hand through his hair, sounding lost.

“What if she really ends up hating us?”

Mom pinched my chubby cheek, fierce but trembling. “If she’s foolish enough to be tricked by a boy like that, I won’t acknowledge her as my daughter.”

Despite her words, Mom was trembling as if she might cry, deep unease spilling from her eyes.

I tried to roll over, squashing both their hands with my tiny body, babbling and blowing bubbles to comfort them.

Mom, Dad, I won’t choose a hard life when I have an easy one.

I’ve had my fill of suffering.

In my past life, I was an orphan. I fought other kids for scraps in the orphanage, and after it shut down, I became a child laborer.

I died before I turned fifteen.

I don’t know why I kept those memories..

But I’m immensely grateful for this lifethe wealth I once only dreamed of, and parents who love me.

I’m not falling for that trap.

When my grandparents and great-grandparents heard I’d nearly been swapped, they were terrified.

Grandpa Lancaster gifted me a subsidiary company. The skyscraper housing it was so tall I couldn’t see the top, making me the youngest CEO fortune-holder on record.
