From Beyond the Grave I Saw His Heartless Betrayal

Blurb:

After being brutally dismembered, my spirit remained earthbound, watching over my daughter Annie. When she was diagnosed with leukemia, the orphanage director contacted her father Nathan for the $300,000 surgery. His cruel response sealed her fate: “If the little bastard dies, so what?” I witnessed Annie’s suffering until her tragic death from neglect.

Nathan finally arrived at the orphanage, remarried with a new family. He mocked Annie’s corpse, calling it a “silicone dummy” and accusing me, Lillian, of scheming. He never believed we were truly dead. As a ghost, I couldn’t intervene when he disrespectfully took Annie’s body, his heart colder than death itself.

This haunting tale explores themes of parental betrayal, supernatural vengeance, and a mother’s love beyond death. Will Nathan face consequences for abandoning Annie? Can a spirit find peace after such tragedy?

Content:

After I was dismembered, my soul has been staying by my daughter’s side.

In the second year after my death, Annie was diagnosed with leukemia and urgently needed surgery.

The director of the orphanage notified Nathan to prepare$300,000 for the procedure.

But the response he got was, Are you damn crazy? Where the hell am I supposed to get that kind of money? Why don’t you go find her wretched mother.

“Besides, if the little bastard dies, so what? What’s it got to do with me?”

In the end, because she didn’t get the surgery in time, Annie died in the orphanage.

The director called Nathan, telling him a relative needed to sign the papers for her cremation.

But Nathan didn’t believe it. He even thought it was a scheme I arranged to extort child suppor from him.

What he didn’t know was that my daughter and I were truly already dead…….

The day after Annie died.

Nathan finally couldn’t stand the director’s incessant calls and impatiently came to the orphanage.

From the sticker on his phone, I realized that he had remarried.

And even had his own child.

I felt a pang of pain in my heart.

No wonder he arrived so late.

It turned out he already had a second family……

As soon as he entered, he kept checking his watch. Clearly, he didn’t want to waste a minute here.

“So the little bastard’s dead? Where’s the body?”

The director sighed and took him to the morgue.

Annie’s body lay quietly under a white sheet.

Nathan stepped forward and yanked the sheet off Annie.

Annie’s eyes were closed.

Her body, due to long-term malnutrition, looked extremely thin and small.

Seeing my daughter again, tears streamed down my face.

But Nathan just snorted coldly with disdain.

“Not bad. This time you did the good job. At least you knew to use a silicone dummy.”

He turned to Director Smith, “That wretched woman Lillian must have paid you well, right? A silicone model like this would cost a lot.”

His words stunned both me and Director Smith.

Annie was lying right here, yet he still thought it was some play I had devised to get money from him.

I wanted to rush to him and tell him the whole truth.

But I was already dead.

I could no longer make a sound.

I could no longer touch this world.

“What?” Director Smith looked at him in disbelief, his eyes turning bloodshot with anger.

“Annie is dead! If you weren’t her father, why the hell would I call you!”

Nathan shot him a look of disgust, his face remaining impassive. “Good that she’s dead! That wretched woman Lillian is a bitch. Any child she spawned would only grow up to be scum anyway!”

Director Smith seemed shocked by his words.

“Mr. Nathan, Annie is your own daughter! How can you say that?”

Hearing this, Nathan laughed. “My own daughter? I have no such bastard!”

He looked around as if searching for me.

Not seeing me, he walked to Annie’s bedside.

He sneered coldly, “What a good show! Look, even though you’re dead, your mother doesn’t come to see you. How pathetic……”

His words made my heart ache.

But he didn’t know that I had always been guarding my daughter.

It’s just that no one could see me.

Since I was dismembered a year ago, my soul had been staying by my daughter’s side.

Every moment, I was with her.

Every night, seeing my daughter writhing in pain from illness broke my heart.

Especially hearing her helplessly cry out my name each time made me weep.

But I was dead, I could no longer hold orcomfort her.

I could only watch helplessly as she endured endless torment.

In those moments, I wished Nathan would suddenly appear, to be with her, to be with our daughter.

But until she died, Nathan never showed up.

Perhaps he never truly considered Annie his daughter…….

“Since Lillian isn’t showing up, I’ll take this little brat’s body back with me.”

Nathan glanced at his daughter’s corpse, his eyes filled with even more disgust.

Director Smith didn’t stop him. After all, Annie was Nathan’s daughter.

It was only right for the father to take his daughter’s remains.

Annie was already small and thin, after death, she weighed almost nothing.

Nathan effortlessly carried her out in a body bag.

But I was worried and quietly followed him.

What I never expected was that as soon as Nathan left the orphanage, he threw the body bag containing Annie into the garbage dump behind the orphanage.

“Lillian, you think you can fool me with a silicone model?”

“Don’t think hiding will save you!”

“If I find you and your brat, I’ll make you pay!”

But I had no attention for his threats.

Because I saw several wild dogs pouncing on Annie!

No!

I lunged forward like a madwoman, a spectral force trying to block the beasts.

But I was just a soul.

I didn’t belong to this world.

I could only watch helplessly as the wild dogs bit into my daughter’s body……

I screamed in despair, begging for Nathan would hear my silent plea.

“Nathan, save our daughter! Please save our daughter!”

I knelt on the ground, wailing soundlessly.

But it was useless.

A wild dog had already bitten off Annie’s arm.

Blood covered the ground.

The crimson blood seemed to sting Nathan’s eyes.

But he still refused to believe his daughter was dead.

“So realistic, even using fake blood.”

“Too bad, even if it were real, I wouldn’t care.”

“What else could come from such a vicious woman but trash!”

Nathan’s words tore me.

I never imagined his hatred for me ran so deep.

But the child is innocent! She is your own daughter……..

I screamed in my heart over and over, praying for some shred of humanity to awaken in him.

But nothing. Until Annie’s body was devoured by the wild dogs, he didn’t step forward.

The wild dogs’ barking must have been loud. Director Smith stumbled over.

When he saw only Annie’s head remained, he turned and vomited.

Tears welled in his eyes.

“Nathan…….”

He was too overcome with emotion to form a complete sentence.

Nathan, seeing the director, was still smug about exposing my scheme.

“Good attempt this time, but you still can’t fool me. Tell Lillian to stop these clumsy tricks.”

“If she doesn’t show up by Mom’s memorial day, she’ll regret it!”

Director Smith seemed shocked by Nathan’s harsh words, his face a mask of disbelief.

But Nathan had already turned and walked away.

Seeing my daughter’s mutilated remains, I couldn’t reconcile this man with the one I had once loved so deeply.

Drifting away from the dump, my soul followed the direction Nathan had gone.

The car stopped in front of a villa.

As Nathan got out and approached the door, I saw a pregnant woman walking toward him.

When I recognized her, my heart sank!

Camille, Nathan’s ex.

After Nathan and I got together, she had hounded me relentlessly. She’d say a woman like me, trash from the bottom of society, didn’t deserve Nathan.

I didn’t want to bother with her, but she kept causing scenes at the clinic where I worked.

She spread rumors that I was a quack, severely disrupting my life.

Not only that, she even threatened to cripple my hands.

At first, Nathan always protected me, even fighting others for me.

But I never expected they’d get back together.

And even have a child together.

This was beyond my expectations.

“You’re back? How did it go over there?”

As soon as Nathan entered, Camille went up to ask.

I knew she meant me and Annie.

“The director said the little brat died, even made a fake corpse model. It’s just another one of that wretched woman’s schemes.”

“Now that she’s hiding, it proves how cunning she is.”

Nathan said through gritted teeth.

Hearing this, Camille looked uneasy, “What if she and Annie are really dead?”

Listening to Camille, I wondered how Nathan would respond.

Before, he treated Annie as his treasure.

He spent more time with her, was more attentive to her than I could ever be.

I once thought we’d be together forever like that.

But now, the daughter he once cherished was called a brat.

His next words plunged me deeper into despair.

“Good if she’s dead, I’ll throw a party to celebrate.”

Tears silently fell from my eyes.

It seemed nothing could go back.

That night, Camille went into labor.

She gave birth to a daughter, whose features resembled Nathan’s.

Nathan was overjoyed, holding the child, unwilling to let go.

Just like how he once was with Annie.

But why did it have to be Camille?

Nathan, Nathan, don’t you know this woman is the real murderer who killed your mother!

How could you…….

I rushed to tell him the truth.

But I was dead, I could do nothing.

Nathan stayed in the room awhile until his company called. Reluctantly, he prepared to leave.

Then a doctor came over with some documents, looking grim.

“What’s wrong?”

Nathan asked anxiously.

The doctor sighed, “Mr. Nathan, the test results show the child has a congenital heart defect. Without a timely transplant, she might not live past ten.”

“Then transplant! Money is no object.”

Nathan was frantic.

His desperation for this child was a cruel mirror of the concern he’d once shown for Annie.

Both his own, yet treated so differently.

“Mr. Nathan, please, it’s not that simple. Finding a matching heart for a newborn is extremely sifficult. It must be from a child under six.”

Nathan thought for a moment, seeming to remember something. He turned to the doctor, “That’s not a problem; I have a way.”

After the doctor left, Nathan called a bodyguard.

“Go back to NewYork, no matter what, find that wretched woman and the brat.”

In an instant, I understood his horrific plan. He wanted to take Annie’s heart for this new child.

I never expected Nathan to be so cruel.

Nathan walked to the window, staring out with a terrifying coldness in his eyes.

“Lillian, don’t blame me, this is what you owe me. Your daughter’s life for Joey’s is fair.”

Looking at this man I once loved, I was filled with a bitter despair.

I couldn’t clear my name while I was alive, it was hopeless now in death.

After all these years, he still believed I killed his mother.

The day his mother was buried, he pressed me before her grave, snarling, “Lillian! This life, I’ll make you wish you were dead!”

From that day, he tormented me endlessly.

And didn’t spare Annie either.

I could take it.

But Annie was only five.

He forced her to wash clothes and do chores. The slightest slack meant a beating.

Back then, I thought of divorce.

But Nathan refused to let go.

Even threatened to break Annie’s legs if I mentioned divorce.

In his eyes, I saw the thrill of revenge.

He choked me, viciously saying, “Lillian, regret it now? This is just the start! Hell awaits you!”

“Blame yourself, you vicious woman!”

But his mother’s death had nothing to do with me.

Even though she treated me poorly.

Even though she insulted me, cursed me, even slapped me in public.

I still took care of her. All for Nathan.

He defied his family to marry me.

Honestly, I was so happy then.

I thought choosing him meant no regrets……..

But his mother’s accidental death shattered that.

He was convinced I did it.

Deepest love turned to deepest hate!

That night, the bodyguard, Alex, returned.

Seeing him alone, Nathan flew into a rage, smashing a glass in his hand.

“What? You didn’t find them?”

It turned out he had been having people investigate my whereabouts since I left. His patience wearing thin, Nathan decided to go himself to the place I’d rented in NewYork.

Driving there, he kicked the door open.

“Lillian, I know you’re here! Stop hiding! Hand over the brat!”

Of course, I couldn’t answer. I was dead.

Hearing no reply, he waved: “Search the place! Find that bitch!”

But I was long dead, how could they find me?

Nathan grew more agitated.

“Lillian, fine! You like hiding? See if you can hide forever!”

His hatred for me was now reached the high point.

But I was right in front of you.

You just couldn’t see me…..

Finding nothing, they prepared to leave.

Then Wesley walked in.

He was our college classmate.

This courtyard was a secondary property his family owned. The rent had been cheap.

“Nathan? What are you doing at my place?”

Wesley saw Nathan, eyes flashing anger!

“Looking for Lillian and that brat!”

“Seems I was right. Lillian is a wretched woman!” Nathan said coldly.

Hearing this, Wesley was angry.

“Nathan, watch your mouth! How can someone like you exist.”

Nathan sneered, not explaining; he just wanted me and our daughter.

“Where are they?”

“Dead! They’re dead! Annie died because you refused to help! Why look now?”

Nathan dismissed it, sneered. “You think a silicone model fools me? Wesley, hand them over!”

“Nathan, after all these years with Lillian, you think she’d lie?”

Wesley’s face showed pity.

“I said Lillian and Annie are dead! Didn’t you collect Annie’s body?”

He didn’t know Nathan fed Annie’s body to wild dogs.

If he knew, he’d have fought Nathan.

But Nathan still refused to believe.

“Wesley, I’m not a fool! She values her life too much to die easily!”

Wesley was speechless. “Everyone dies, especially a poor woman like Lillian.”

“You…….”

Nathan pressed further.

Then his phone rang.

Seeing the number, his eyes lit up.

“Finally coming out?”

That number was mine, but the caller wasn’t me.

“Mr. Nathan, it’s me. I checked, she died a year ago.”

A male voice came through.
