I’m a little girl selling sweet corn, and I ended up trapped in a haunted hospital.

Old Man Walter, a creepy figure, was swinging his cane and smashing players’ heads.

Trembling, I held up an sweet corn and asked, Grandpa, would you like to buy an sweet corn?

He looked troubled and said, I’ve got diabetes, can’t handle sweets.

I closed my eyes, resigned: “It’s alright, Grandpa. Wishing you happiness every day.”

Old Man Walter put away his cane: “Give Grandpa one!”

Old Lady Mabel was chasing players with a kitchen knife.

Holding my cooler, I called out softly, “Grandma, would you like an sweet corn?”

Old Lady Mabel replied, “Sweetie, my teeth can’t handle anything sweet.”

I forced a smile: “No problem. Wishing you good health and a long life.”

She flung the knife far away: “Give me one! Stupid teeth, let’s see what you can do!”

The players all protested, crying unfair.

The big Boss peeked out, munching on an sweet corn.

“If even one of her sweet corns (munch munch) remains unsold (munch munch),”

“I’ll have all of you buried (munch munch).”

Selling sweet corns on New York City street corner, I suddenly got pulled into a horror game!

Staring at the creepy abandoned hospital in front of me, a cold electronic voice echoed overhead.

As soon as the system announced the rules, all the players panicked.

Through the windows, everyone could see blood-red shadows drifting inside the building, accompanied by piercing screams.

Someone yelled in panic, “What kind of game is this? I’m not playing! I want to go home!”

Someone else broke down sobbing, “Help! I have kids to take care of! I don’t want to be stuck in hell…”

I pressed my lips tightly, fighting hard not to cry out.

I’m only four and a half years old!

I don’t even know what a horror game is.

But I know, crying out means they are hungry.

I didn’t want to be hungry.

So I forced my eyes wide open, pretending to be calm.

Clutching my sweet corn cart, I followed the terrified crowd into the hospital building.

In a place we couldn’t see, countless comments began to scroll.

Weird, I just counted, isn’t it 21 people entered the game?

Why’s there a little girl?

The moment we stepped into the hospital’s corridor, electronic voice spoke again.

Welcome to Floor One: Patient Ward.

Floor 1’s Rules: Correctly identify the cause of death for any three patients.

If you fail, you will be erased…

In the deep, gloomy corridor, we looked fearfully at the patient rooms on either side.

The heavy scent of blood assaulted everyone’s noses.

Nobody dared to go in first.

A bald guy looked around, his eyes lighting up when he saw me.

He shoved me hard, shouting, “Get moving, you little brat!”

He pushed me down hard, but luckily, a short-haired girl next to me caught me, so I didn’t fall.

The people around shouted angrily, “Bullying a kid like that? What kind of man are you?!”

The bald guy didn’t care.

“This is a horror game! It’s kill or be killed! Quit playing saints! If she won’t go in side the room, then one of you will go!”

The crowd suddenly become quiet.

Comments rolling up.

Jeez, my blood pressure’s spiking!

What can you do? Morals go out in Horror Games.

Everyone wants to live.

Poor kid. Eh, maybe it’s better she dies here; the later NPC are even more creepy.

The short-haired girl stood up, fearless.

“Fine, I’ll go instead of this kid! ”

She shielded me behind her, whispering, “Listen, kiddo, my name is Luna, trust me, when no one’s looking, find a spot to hide. You’re small, the monster NPCs might not see you.”

Luna took a deep breath, picked up a white lab coat from the floor, put it on her.

and strode confidently to the nearest room, knocking.

“Hello? Nurse doing rounds.”

The door creaked open.

She walked in calmly.

The bald guy thought for a second, then hurriedly followed her, peeking from the doorway.

I was really worried about Luna, so I snuck up too.

Inside was an old man leaning heavily on a cane.

Seeing someone enter his room.

A sinister, eerie smile spread across his wrinkled face.

Luna spoke, “Sir, hello, routine check.”

The old man didn’t speak, just stared at her with a pair of hollow eyes.

“Let me confirm,” she said calmly, “what was your condition again?”

Comments:

Wow, Luna’s smart! Pretending to be a nurse to fool the NPC monsters!

Gotta say, sis is badass!

The old man’s cloudy eyes turned blood-red.

“Old bone’s got a nasty condition, see.”

“If I didn’t kill someone every day… Makes my skin crawl.”

With that, he raised his cane high.

Luna turned and darted out of the room in two steps.

The bald guy, caught peeking in the doorway, was shocked and forget to dodge in time.

The old man’s cane crashing down on his skull.

CRUNCH!

His skull shattered, brains splattering.

The scene was too gruesome.

Screams erupted from the crowd as people fled in terror.

I tripped over the bald guy’s body and fell.

Looking up, I stared right into the old man’s face.

Frozen with fear, my mind blank, I just mechanically repeated the action I’d done hundreds of times –

I struggled to pull a sweet corn from my cart, closed my eyes, and held it up high:

“Grandpa… would you like to buy a sweet corn?”
