It had transmigrated to this world for twenty years.

Dodo, the dog I brought from my original world, was slaughtered by my three sons for their beloved aunt.

My legs were crushed by a truck on my way chasing after them for Dodo.

Meanwhile, that vicious woman Chloe was already eating him.

Bleeding tears, I accepted a torment mission in exchange for a chance to start over.

This another life, I didn’t use points to save my eldest son, Joel, from the car accident. He ended up with both legs broken, his racing career over.

And I let my second son, Noah, drop out of school. As for the youngest one, Ethan, I stood by when his biological father abandoned him.

After that, the system congratulated me:

“You’ve suffered these twenty years. Go home in peace.”

“Nurse! Where’s my phone?!”

Waking up, ignoring the agony of my severed legs, I called Joel at once.

“Where’s Dodo? What did you do with Dodo?”

Before he could answer, Chloe’s voice came through the phone.

“This dog meat stew is delicious, so tender and rich. Joel, where did you get such good dog meat?”

Hearing that, I felt a tearing inside me.

“What did you say?! What did you do to Dodo? Give Dodo back to me!”

But no one cared about my desperate screams. Joel coldly told me to shut up.

“It’s just a dog. Are you really that jealous of Chloe?”

“Don’t you know Chloe needs to nourish herself? Why are you being so selfish!”

“Still trying to compete with her? Dream on. You’ll never measure up to her. She’s the real mom in our hearts — you’re nothing!”

Then, he hung up without hesitation.

Clutching the phone, my tear-streaked face twisted into hysterical laughter.

Twenty years ago, I transmigrated to this world and had the system activated.

After failing the mission to win the male lead, I should’ve returned.

But in this world, I’d given birth to these three boys and grew emotion on them as their mother.

To keep them from suffering, I changed my mission to a family bond quest, with the reward of taking all three kids back with me when I would return.

But after Chloe and their father ran off together and reappeared, my bond with the kids instantly reset to zero according to the system.

All those years of sacrifice was just paving the way for someone else.

Now, the last living I cared about in this world had been brutally killed by them.

The nurse saw me crying and laughing like a madwoman and injected me with a sedative.

The system’s cold voice rang out:

“Host, your family bond mission progress is below 1%.”

Thinking of Dodo, my numb body burned with hatred again.

“No, I won’t continue that quest!”

“I want revenge. I want them to pay for Dodo’s life!”

The system warned,

“You have no points left to exchange. Are you willing to switch missions and start over?”

“Yes! Whatever it takes to avenge Dodo!” I gritted my teeth.

“How do you want to take revenge?”

“I’ll take back everything I gave them and cut them off completely!”

“Confirmed. Switched to torment mission.”

“When the target’s suffering reaches 100%, the time-space door will open, allowing you to go change the past.”

“Warning: Host’s life is below 50%. Proceed with caution. Good luck.”

As the system’s voice faded, I shed my last tear.

I asked the doctor for painkillers, then went straight in my wheelchair to the 8th floor — Chloe’s ward.

Chloe had my three sons taking turns caring for her in a VIP private room.

The nurse pushed me to the door, where a photo of Chloe with my three sons hung prominently.

Inside, Chloe wasn’t there, but Joel was cleaning for her.

“What are you doing here again?”

Noticing my wheelchair, he snorted scornfully.

“Chloe’s sick, and you’re copying her? Mia White, you’re pathetic.”

I stared at him, eyes burning with hate.

“Where’s Dodo? I want to take him home.”

Joel looked guilty for a second — just a second.

“All you care about is a dog?”

“Chloe is sick, and you didn’t even ask. You’re heartless!”

“You want the dog? Fine! Here—now get out before you disgust Chloe!”

He fished a bone from a pot of soup for Chloe and flung it right at my face.

I caught it desperately — it was part of Dodo’s body.

For twenty years in this world, whenever I felt betrayed or humiliated, Dodo was my only comfort.

He got me through the hardest times — through his whole short life.

And now… all that was left was this little piece of bone?

No! I couldn’t accept it!

“Dodo! Dodo!”

I lunged at the pot, frantically fishing for more of Dodo’s remains.

After scavenging the pot, I dug through the trash — I couldn’t miss even the smallest fragment.

But it wasn’t enough.

“Where’s the fur?” I grabbed Joel’s shirt. “What did you do with Dodo’s fur?”

He tore my greasy hand away, calling me a crazy b**ch.

I glared at him, eyes bloodshot.

“What will it take to give Dodo back to me?”

Joel smirked dismissively,

“I sold it to a fur trader — what can you do about it?”

Desperate, I wheeled away like I’d given up.

But at the door, I yanked it open and screamed,

“Joel Hunter stole and tortured a dog! He’s eating dog meat in here! Somebody catch him!”

Joel rushed to cover my mouth, but a crowd had already gathered.

They stared at the bones in my arms, whispering.

“Someone really ate dog meat in a hospital? How vile.”

“Miss, did he steal and eat your dog?”

Someone recognized Joel and pointed their phone camera at him.

“Isn’t that the motorbike champion? He eats dog meat?”

“Say something! Did you steal this lady’s dog?”

Joel froze, trapped.

I pried his hand off my mouth and hissed,

“Give me Dodo, or I’ll make sure Chloe trends online!”

Joel raised his hand to slap me. But with cameras rolling, he forced his arm down, veins bulging.

“Fine. You want that damn dog? I’ll give it to you.”

He gave me a sinister look, eyeing my legless lower body.

“But only if you crawl up Mount Veridia to pray for Chloe’s health and regret what you’ve done to her.”

Mount Veridia had 13,800 steps. Even fit people struggled to climb it.

He deliberately gave me the impossible task. But I wouldn’t let him win.

I looked him dead in the eye, “Have Dodo’s fur ready, or I’ll ruin you and Chloe.”

At the mountain base, I refused the nurse’s help to carry me up and started climbing with my bare hands.

My sleeves tore, my arms scraped raw and bloody — but I made it to the summit at last.

I got the prayer tag, but going back down was even more tormenting.

Gritting my teeth, I tucked the tag close, closed my eyes, and rolled down the rocky slope.

Bushes scratched me bloody, but I reached the bottom.

Joel handed over Dodo’s fur, his expression dark.

“Mia, you said you’d cut ties with us. Don’t you dare regret it!”

He threw a signed parent-child severance document at me.

Back then, Chloe oiled the stairs and made me fall, sending me into early labor.

I gave birth alone. No one was there in company.

After nearly dying, I finally had my first blood-related family in this world.

I raised Joel with everything I had.

But at three, Chloe showed up with his birth father, and some candies won Joel’s heart.

“You’re a control freak! A psycho!”

“Chloe never bosses me around like you! I like her better!”

“No wonder Dad left you — I’d hate you too if I were him!”

Those words used to gut me. Now, I felt nothing.

The system chimed: “Torment mission progress: 40%. Complete the rest to open the time-space door.”

Ignoring Joel, I left the hospital with Dodo’s remains.

My second son Noah was brilliant. He graduated college at nineteen and started his own business.

Within years, he climbed to the top, becoming a young CEO.

Chloe enjoyed countless privileges thanks to him.

At the lobby of his company, I said I was there for Noah.

They escorted me to his office and knocked the door.

Hearing it was me, Noah’s tone turned icy.

A single “Not seeing her” echoed through the hall.

Like always, he made excuses to avoid me.

He’d hated me since he was little.

Because I stopped him from hanging with street thugs, forcing him to study hard.

Joel was just a normal kid, but Noah was born rotten.

I worked hard to steer his sharp mind toward school and life.

When he went into business after college, his dad, furious from a quarrel with Chloe, street-raced and killed a family of three back then.

I used points which the system granted to change Noah’s identity, keeping him out of jail and boosting his career.

But when he succeeded, he loved being taken by Chloe to street races and underground bars.

“Chloe made me feel free and taught me what real living is.”

“You? You only care about your image, whether I’m good enough to show off.”

Fine. Let me give you a show.

“Everyone, come and see! See how the mighty CEO treats his own mother!”

Noah stormed out, dragged me into his office under everyone’s stares.

“Mia! What do you want now?”

“I want a divorce from your father.”

Noah spun around, “No way! Dream on!”

I’d tried everything to end the marriage these years.

But they just wouldn’t let me go.

Chloe lived lavishly. My husband took out huge loans to spoil her.

I used points for cash to pay off debts, keeping my kids’ lives stable and their dreams alive.

After the man went to jail, he wanted to divorce me and marry Chloe.

But Noah refused.

He worried his dad would mistreat Chloe, so he used his power to block the divorce at the civil registry.

I sued. He had connections delay the court date.

Now that I was leaving, I would let their “perfect couple” have each other.

I stared at Noah’s smug face.

“Name your price. Whatever it takes to get the divorce.”

He laughed like it was a joke.

“Whatever? Mia, what could you possibly offer?”

No time to waste — the system warned my life was down to 30% after the mountain climb.

“How about my eyes?”

Noah looked stunned. “What did you say?”

“I said, will you take my eyes in exchange?”

Chloe loved my eyes, the pupils of which were in different colors.

These eyes made her lose the spotlight and attention she craved.

So she schemed against me, stole my man, my kids.

Noah studied me, weighing whether giving these eyes to his beloved Chloe was worth letting me divorce.

Finally, he decided.

“Deal. But I want the eyeballs intact.”

I almost laughed in his face.

Noah thought he was being ruthless, waiting for me to back down.

But he had no idea how much pain I’d endured — my legs crushed, my heart torn out when Dodo was killed.

Compared to what’s coming for you, losing my eyes was nothing.

I met his gaze. “I’ll dig them out myself. Besides the divorce, I want Joel arrested for stealing and killing Dodo.”

Noah didn’t believe I’d do it. “Fine. Let’s see how long you keep up the act.”

The next second, I drove two fingers straight into my eye socket.
