Eat with Me, Love with Me

Blurb:

Hired by the Vance family to treat Leo Vance’s eating disorder, I never expected to become part of his story. As a girl with a huge appetite, my job was simple: eat in front of the young master to stimulate his appetite. But when I entered Leo Vance’s world, bullet comments flooded my vision, labeling me the “side chick” and warning me to stay away from the male lead.

After a fight with his girlfriend, Leo Vance locked himself in his room, refusing to eat. Terrified by the comments, I offered him an apple, only to be coldly dismissed. But fate had other plans. When I sneaked into the kitchen to cook spaghetti late at night, Leo appeared, drawn by the aroma. Now, under the soft dining room light, he watches me eat, and something shifts between us. Can my love for food truly heal Leo Vance’s eating disorder, or will the bullet comments about the side chick and female lead ruin everything?

Content:

I was hired to treat the young master of the Vance family for his eating disorder because I have a huge appetite.

The first time we met, he had just fought with his little girlfriend, getting so angry he hadn’t eaten all day.

Bullet comments flashed quickly:

[Here she comes — the side chick is trying to seduce the male lead.]

[Can the side chick just know her place? Even after a fight, our male lead only loves the female lead, okay?]

I got scared by the bullet comments.

After a while, I silently handed him the apple I was holding and mumbled,

“Um… do you want some?”

Led by a servant, I arrived at the door of the young Vance master’s bedroom.

Loud smashing sounds came from inside.

It was said that the young master had fought with his girlfriend again.

Leo Vance always had a terrible temper and did whatever he wanted — only his little girlfriend could somewhat keep him in check.

Their argument had triggered his eating disorder again.

Leo locked himself in his room and hadn’t eaten for a whole day.

The doctor suggested finding someone who loved eating to have meals in front of him to stimulate his appetite.

So Mrs Vance found me.

I was the best eater in our town — four meals a day, and I enjoyed everything I ate.

Mrs Vance said she hired me to perform eating and would also pay for my grandma’s medical treatment, so I came.

Right then, I was still tightly clutching those apples a servant had handed me.

Hearing the noise inside, the servant pushed me forward and said,

“You… go in by yourself. I have things to do.”

As soon as she left, I eagerly peeled one of the apple and took a big bite.

The sweet, tender flesh burst in my mouth.

The rich really knew how to live! Even their fruit tasted better!

While munching, I pushed the door open.

The room was a mess.

Leo had sharp, fierce eyebrows and looked furious.

Hearing the noise, he turned to glare at me irritably.

For a moment, we stared at each other.

At the same time, bullet comments appeared in the air:

[Here she comes — the side chick is trying to seduce the male lead.]

[Can the side chick just know her place? Even after a fight, our male lead only loves the female lead, okay?]

[If the side chick dares to have any sneaky intentions, she’ll be thrown out onto the streets to beg for food!]

I stared blankly at the bullet comments in fear.

Leo, seeing I wasn’t speaking, grew more impatient.

He clicked his tongue, glanced at my juice-stained lips, then at the apple in my hand.

Since he stared for a bit too long, I thought he wanted some.

So, trembling, I reluctantly offered him my beloved apple.

With my mouth still full, I weakly mumbled,

“Um… do you want some?”

Leo frowned and said coldly,

“Get out.”

I quietly took back the apple, “Okay.”

That night, Leo still didn’t come out to eat.

I thought I was probably going to get fired soon.

After all, it seemed like Leo wasn’t accepting me as part of his treatment for eating disorder.

In the middle of the night, lying in the guest room, I grew more and more anxious.

So anxious that my stomach started growling.

Since I didn’t get a chance to perform eating, I only had one apple that night and was already starving.

I couldn’t resist getting out of bed and sneaking into the kitchen.

After checking the ingredients in the fridge, I decided to make myself some spaghetti.

Halfway through, I thought about it and added some grilled chicken.

And for a balanced diet, I also tossed in some onions.

Finally, a large plate of fragrant spaghetti was ready.

The sauce was rich, the pasta smooth and chewy, the onions fresh.

I crouched in the kitchen, eating happily.

Right in the middle of my feast, I heard a noise outside.

Startled, I met Leo’s unreadable eyes.

Three minutes later.

A soft light turned on in the dining room.

I sat at the table eating spaghetti while Leo quietly watched me.

At first, being stared at so intently felt a bit uncomfortable.

But once the pasta was in my mouth, I couldn’t care about anything except for the delicious food.

I was about to get a second plate when Leo finally spoke, sounding puzzled,

“…Is it that good?”

My cheeks were stuffed, so I couldn’t speak.

I just widened my eyes and nodded vigorously!

Leo let out what sounded like a laugh.

“Why are you so silly.”

He casually ordered me,

“Then go get me a plate.”

My eyes lit up happily. Still chewing, I kept nodding.

Good thing I’d made enough for three plates.

I could usually eat three plates myself, but since this was part of the job, I could share one with Leo.

The spaghetti were now a bit soft but had absorbed the sauce well.

I handed him a fork, “Try it, it’s really good!”

Leo, true to his rich upbringing, ate elegantly.

After he took a bite, I forgot about my own food and asked urgently,

“How is it?”

Leo didn’t answer, just said, “Keep eating.”

“Okay.” I eagerly picked up my fork and continued devouring the pasta.

When I finished, I noticed Leo had already eaten more than half of his.

Bullet comments were stunned:

[Wait, male lead, what about your eating disorder? Weren’t you supposed to feel sick at the sight of food? How did you just eat half a plate??]

[But honestly, I kinda want it too… This is making me hungry in the middle of the night.]

[The side chick eats so happily, it’s making me drool LOL.]

After that night, I officially stayed at the Vance house.

Leo’s eating disorder had caused serious stomach problems.

Mrs Vance said she’d pay me a thousand dollars for every meal I got him to eat.

If he ate more fruit or cake, she’d add another thousand.

So I followed Leo around, trying to coax him into eating.

Slowly, Leo started eating something more.

Mrs Vance was thrilled. She even helped transfer me to Leo’s school so I could keep an eye on his meals there.

One day, as usual, I placed a sweet mango mousse cake on his desk before hurrying back to my own class.

From what I’d observed over the past few days, Leo tended to eat more when it involved mango.

After class, I eagerly went to find him to see if he’d eaten it.

But when I reached his classroom, chaos had broken out.

Leo’s girlfriend was clutching her chest, struggling to breathe, with red rashes all over her arms.

Leo asked urgently, “Laura, what happened?”

Tears in her eyes, Laura pointed at me,

“Emma said I could have some… so I ate it.”

“But she hid mango in it, which I’m allergic to!”

The bullet comments exploded:

[I knew the side chick couldn’t resist causing trouble. See, she finally showed her true colors.]

[She deliberately gave the female lead mango to trigger her allergy!]

[Oh no, the female lead looks like she’s in so much pain… The male lead must be heartbroken.]

I picked up the half-eaten cake and explained anxiously,

“I clearly told you this was mango cake!”

She had asked if she could have some, and without thinking much, I said only if Leo agreed — and I mentioned it was mango cake.

But Laura wouldn’t listen. She whined to Leo,

“I didn’t hear her say that! Leo, I’m in so much pain…”

I frowned,

“How could you not have heard? We can check the surveillance —”

Honestly, Laura’s accusation was poorly constructed.

Just checking the surveillance or asking others present would prove my innocence.

I looked at Leo hopefully, wanting him to believe me.

But Laura was clutching her chest, pale-faced, tears streaming from her eyes.

Leo couldn’t care about anything else. He held Laura affectionately in his arms.

Before I could say more, he lost patience and swatted the cake box out of my hand.

The delicate cake fell to the ground, covered in dust.

“Enough. Laura is straightforward — why would she lie? Stop making excuses.”

Then he protectively took Laura to the hospital.

I watched them leave, feeling a surge of grievance.

Not because I was wrongly accused.

But because I thought —

Dammit, I just lost a thousand dollars!

I quietly calculated how many more meals I needed to get Leo to eat to cover Grandma’s surgery.

The answer was at least seventy.

Luckily, Laura’s allergic reaction was treated in time and didn’t cause serious issues.

So after giving me the cold shoulder for three days, Leo talked to me again.

He called me around 9 PM, his tone lazy and casual,

“Hey, silly, go buy me chocolate cake from Westborough. Hurry.”

The shop closed at 10 PM. I had to go across the city to Westborough in an hour.

But hearing there was money to be made, my eyes lit up,

“Okay, wait a bit. I’ll go buy them now.”

The next second, I heard background laughter from his end,

“Dude, where did you find this little nanny? She’s so obedient.”

“She talks so softly — sounds like she’s babying you.”

Leo seemed to be in a good mood.

“Go, Emma. Hurry up.”

After buying the cake and arriving at the location Leo gave me, it was past 10 PM.

The bleak wind blew there — no shops around, no KTV.

I stood confused on the empty street under flickering streetlights.

I called Leo three times — all went to voicemail.

I crouched under a streetlight and waited. Eventually, I couldn’t resist sneaking a piece of cake.

On the fifth call, he still didn’t pick up.

Chewing the cake, I sadly realized Leo had tricked me.

I didn’t know how long I waited — my legs went numb.

Leo finally called me back.

“Laura’s still upset because of the allergy incident. She holds grudges.”

“Emma, this is just a lesson for you. Remember it next time.”

On the other end, Laura protested, “I do not hold grudges!”

Leo laughed softly, “Alright, alright, you don’t.”

Then he said to me, “I sent you the new address. Come quickly.”

I wiped my face.

Well, at least Leo was still willing to eat.

Otherwise, tonight would’ve been a total waste.

When I reached the private room door, laughter spilled out from inside.

Entering the room, I saw Laura plant a kiss on Leo’s cheek. Everyone was teasing.

The bullet comments went wild:

[So pure and adorable! The female lead gets so shy just from a kiss.]

[Kinda feels like she did it on purpose so the side chick would see — low-key claiming her territory. So cute!]

[Bet the side chick doesn’t know the chocolate cake were actually for the female lead.]

[LOL, all that simping for nothing.]

Laura, blushing after the kiss, walked over to me.

She naturally took the cake.

“Thanks for buying these for me!”

She took a bite, then fed one to Leo.

“You try one too, Leo.”

Leo frowned and avoided it.

“I’m not hungry. You have it.”

“Fine.” Laura lost interest, “I don’t want it either.”

She casually tossed the remaining cake aside.

I didn’t cry when I had to go to Westborough late at night.

I didn’t cry when I crouched on a dark street for half an hour.

But now, learning Leo didn’t even want to eat, my world collapsed.

All the events of the night piled up, and I couldn’t hold back — my eyes reddened.

Desperate, I picked up a piece of cake,

“Leo, are you sure you don’t want to try?”

His friends laughed,

“Dude, your nanny’s too sweet.”

“You said you wanted chocolate cake, and she’s been fixated on it all night.”

“Come on, just take a bite. She looks like she’s about to cry.”

Leo seemed to cheer up a bit. The cake that seemed disgusting earlier now felt more acceptable.

Smirking, he finally took the cake and slowly ate it.

Leaving the room, I walked to a nearby restaurant.

I tearfully ordered a large size hamburger.

Back at the mansion, I wiped my tears while munching on the burger.

The butler let me in in shock.

“Why are you crying over a burger? Was it that good?”

Clutching the burger, I sobbed and couldn’t help complaining,

“So many chocolate cake… went to waste.”

“He didn’t even want them… He was just messing with me…”

The butler understood. He sighed and led me into the living room.

There was a stranger sitting in the living room.

He wore a tailored suit and, hearing our conversation, looked over with calm, deep eyes behind gold-rimmed glasses.

The butler quickly introduced me,

“Young Master, this is the person Mrs Vance hired to treat Leo’s eating disorder.”

I felt awkward badmouthing Leo in front of his brother, so I softly said,

“H-Hello.”

The man just glanced at me mildly and nodded.

The butler said,

“A burger might not be enough. What else do you want? I’ll make it for you.”

I blinked, “I want BBQ ribs!”

Soon, the ribs were served.

My appetite returned, and I dug in.

But soon, I felt that probing gaze from the living room on me.

A moment later, the man walked over.

He didn’t speak, just watched me eat.

My cheeks full, I couldn’t talk, so I looked at him questioningly.

After a while, he finally said,

“What rates did my mother offer you?”

I swallowed and answered honestly,

“A thousand dollars per meal Leo eats.”

He seemed to chuckle, then asked,

“Would you mind taking on additional work?”

“Remind me to eat on time and keep me company during meals.”

“How about ten thousand per meal?”

I stared, wide-eyed, almost choking.

His fingers twitched, and he couldn’t resist gently pinching my cheek.

Seeing I wasn’t speaking, he added,

“Too low? Twenty thousand?”

“Sorry… I just couldn’t help it. You eat so delightfully.”

He said it in peace as if he was discussing a business deal,

“I don’t have eating disorder. I’ll eat whatever you bring, and I won’t make you cry… Deal?”

I stopped chewing, stunned.

Finally, I widened my eyes and asked, “Really?”

He nodded, “I don’t lie.”
